Awesomeness

Aren't these Cards by Able and Game so awesome! I especially love the cupcake one (anyone who knows me well knows I adore anything cupcake-related). A person better than cupcakes would have to be so super-amazing because cupcakes are hard to beat in my books!
and YAYSIES...... love it!

LOVE this

so take a picture

of a beautiful thing or place

put it in your pocket

close to your heart

and whenever you need a break

you'll know that it is there

to transport your mind and soul

to the most amazing paradise

My Shots

A few shots with the new camera.........

Comments would be fab! xx Meisha

POSSESS CREATE INSPIRE

From New Possesions to New Creations and Inspirations......
So this week is my second week back at uni (hence the lack of posts, sorry!) and I am loving it!
I'm flying high on the inspiration front and lacking on the procrastination front which is great!
Possibly spurred on by the fact I now possess an amazing new camera.... the Canon 450D!!
Soooooo worth all that money! Having a sweet camera to play with has left me with little time for sketching but it's all good, creativity is flowing so there will be some soon! I'm having heaps of fun taking interesting shots and gathering inspiration of rad photography. Practice shots and inspiration to follow......

Photographers I am liking...... Aaron Fever, Derek Kettela (Does a lot of Karen Walker's Photography)

I LOVE the colours in Aaron Feavers shots, pastelly, muted and slight old-school polaroid like.

Hello hello, here are a few WorkInProgress (WIP) sketches I am working on.... plus my new desk setup which I am really liking!
Feel free to give feedback :)

check check bow!

Aren't Sunday's lovely!!??  After Petra and I's (soon to be) Sunday morning coffee ritual, we headed over to Kraftbomb ( http://kraftbomb.blogspot.com/) in Greylynn. It was the first time we'd been and everything was soooo incredibly cute we just wanted to buy it all! Pet and I ended up with a pretty little bow hairclip each for a grand total of five dollars a bow. Amazing! They totally take me back to primary school days!

Anyway you should check out Kraftbomb for handcrafted, cutesy, vintagey finds like our bows, cupcake fridge-magnets, and sweet stationery to name just a few. It's held on the last Sunday of the month at the Grey Lynn Community Centre in Auckland from 11am-2pm.

Oh and here's a little peek at our bow's......

Happy Sunday! Meisha x

Summer Sketch

Boredom on a rainy day during my summer holiday at the family bach provided this 'Lola' drawing.
Much to the fascination of a seven year old cousin who proceeded to pull out at least a two dozen magazine pages for me to draw for her while she drew cute drawings of herself. oh to be seven again!

Pretty Portraits

Here is some more of my work.... 3 portraits of a good friend, created for an illustration assignment in my first year of uni. I got really interested in exploring different techniques for each portrait, and realllly loved the watercolour! it gives such a fun, flirty, whimsical look to the work. Hope you like!
